MOBILISING MUSLIM COMMUNITIES TO BUILD A PROSPEROUS AND PEACEFUL AFRICA
The African Union’s broader vision 2063 is to work towards realization of an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the international arena.
The above visions constitutes one of the major functions of AFMC among other functions, which is mobilizing and orga- nizing member councils to effectively play their advocacy and liaison roles with National governments, similar continental and global faith-based inspired organizations (such as Religions for Peace Rfp, African Council of Religious Leaders ACRL, All African Conference of Churches AACC, Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar SECAM, etc.), local, regional and international NGOs as well as capacity building of member councils to adequately and systematically contribute to the above vision as well as live up to demands of the contemporary world

Faith in action
Capacity building at national level to build institutional and individual abilities towards accountability and transparency aimed at achieving;
- Improved Governance, professionalism and service delivery within Member Councils and practical spiritual education and faith building activities
- Emphasized Muslim identity, values and culture as part of African heritage through Research and publications.
- Trained and licensed Imams/community leaders in all member states.
Capacity building at national level to build institutional and individual abilities towards accountability and transparency aimed at achieving;

Spreading Salaam (peace)
Empowering member state councils and Muslim groups to advocate, influence and take part in;
- Promoting human rights as enshrined in maqasid alsharia (protection of faith, life, the intellect, property, and progeny.
- Building bridges and conflict resolution.
- Inter religious dialogue with non-Islamic faiths. Intra- religious dialogue and peaceful co-existence among Muslim sects and groups.
Inclusive Development
Building structures that can contribute to indigenous development through member states, partnerships and networks;
- Serving God by serving His creatures and developing the world.
- Equipping children with useful knowledge and practical skills to be competitive.
- Empowering Youth skills, resources, rights, responsibilities & opportunities to serve.
- Recognizing the role of women and equipping them with skills, resources, rights, responsibilities and opportunities to serve.
- Programs for economic development and eradicating extreme poverty. Protection of the environment
A Mercy for the Universe (Rahmatan Lil-Alamin)
Addressing global emergencies;
- Emergency response services and disaster preparedness. - Appropriate Healthcare (both preventive and remedial physical, mental and spiritual).
- Refugees, migration and human trafficking
- A vibrant Muslim NGO sector.
